Summary

This conference launched the FUTURAGE Road Map, which will provide a European research agenda for ageing research for the next 10 years.

The Road Map was presented in the European Parliament at this conference hosted by the STOA Panel of MEPs. Drawing on two years of work, eight stages of consultation with over 700 contributors the Road Map will shape the ageing research agenda in Horizon 2020 - the Framework Programme for Research and Innovation.

The Road Map is one of the major strategic European initiatives addressing the grand challenge of the ageing population.

Parallel initiatives including the Active and Healthy Ageing Innovation Partnership, European Research Area in Ageing, Joint Programme Initiative and the European Year for Active Ageing and Solidarity between Generations 2012 will also be participating.
